Over the past couple of months I have been working with Perspective Films to build a new voice over booth and audio mixing suite. It is finally up and running!
Here are some of the highlights for the new additions:
-Full air ventilation in the voice over booth. This is great for those long sessions and the talent won't choke from heat or lack of air!
-Floating floor and wall construction. The room is 100% isolated from all outside walls, ceiling, and floor. There are train tracks roughly 50 yards away and there is zero train noise in the VO booth. You can also stand outside of the booth yelling at the top of your lungs and it can not be heard inside. So, is it quiet? Yeah, it is.
-None of that dark gray, eggshell foam that wreaks and is drab to look at! Beautiful wood frames and fabric cover all of the sound absorbtion materials.
-32" LCD screen synced with video playback in the control room for ADR sessions.
-Neumann U87 microphone, Sennheiser 416 microphone, Telefunken AK-47, and Sanken CS-3E microphone.
-Sony 7506 and Audio Technica ATH 150 headphones (6 pairs total)
-Neve Portico II Channel strip mic pre, eq, and compressor/limiter.
-Avalon AD2022, two channel Class-A mic preamp
-Mytek 8x192 Mastering Grade AD/DA converters.
-Dangerous Music ST/SR surround sound monitor controller
-Genelec 5.1 surround monitors
-Euphonix fader packs and software controllers for faster mixing, routing, and editing.
-Nuendo 5.1 post production software with Waves 360 surround tools, Waves Restoration, Izotope Ozone, and Audioease Speakerphone 2.
-Novation 25SL MkII MIDI keyboard for aiding in sound design.
-Thousands and thousands and thousands of sound effects in the library. Anything we don't currently have, we can create.
-46" LED LCD video playback in the control room.
-Aja Kona LHi video playback/capture card
-Mac Pro with 12GB RAM connected via Fibre Channel to our 17TB Xsan Promise Raid system. Networked with our two video editing suites for fast, reliable hand off of projects within the facility.
-And a lovely black leather couch for resting.
